New Columbia Pike Pizzeria 1000 Degrees Opening, Offering Free Pizza Tomorrow

by ARLnow.com  October 4, 2016 at 11:15 am22 Comments

A new quick-service pizza restaurant on Columbia Pike is offering free pizza tomorrow as the eatery holds its grand opening.

1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza, billed as “a fast-casual American spin on authentic, hand-tossed Neapolitan pizza,” is opening at 3400 Columbia Pike, near the intersection with S. Glebe Road.

The first 10 customers will get free pizza for a year, according to a press release, while anyone else stopping by on opening day will get a free 10-inch personal pizza for following the restaurant on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

From the press release:

To celebrate the new restaurant, the first 10 guests through the doors on Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. will win free pizza for a year. In addition, all guests who visit the grand opening between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m. and like 1000 Degrees on Facebook or follow on Instagram or Twitter will receive a free 10″ pizza of their choice.

1000 Degrees serves personalized, made-to-order authentic Neapolitan pizza. Each pizza starts with fresh, never frozen, hand-tossed dough, created with authentic Neapolitan flour and available in both a personal 10″ and sharable 14″ sizes. Guests then choose to create their own pizza or order one of the 1000 Degrees Favorites.

The Arlington 1000 Degrees is the first location in the D.C. area, and is owned and operated by long-time, local entrepreneur of the area. Prior to 1000 Degrees, the owner had owned several different businesses in the area, and chose to open 1000 Degrees after being drawn to its fresh, quality ingredients and fun atmosphere.

“We’re thrilled to open the doors of our third 1000 Degrees restaurant in Virginia,” said 1000 Degrees CEO and Founder Brian Petruzzi. “I’m confident that we serve the best hand-tossed Neapolitan pizza in the area and provide an unparalleled customer experience that will keep people coming back for more.”

Customizing a 1000 Degrees pizza is truly a unique experience, as guests can choose to top theirs with any of the more than 50 high quality cheeses, sauces, meats, vegetables and other toppings all for one flat price. While choosing their toppings, customers are guided down an assembly line of pizza consultants to create a pizza that is totally unique to them.

Outside of the build your own option, there are more than 12 varieties of specialty pizzas including favorites like The Smokey Pollo, also known as Barbecue Bourbon Chicken, which features sweet and smokey bourbon barbecue sauce, roasted chicken, red onion, pineapple, shredded Grande brand mozzarella and blue cheeses, and The Philly, which is a cheese steak pizza topped with thinly sliced rib-eye, caramelized Spanish onions, balsamic glaze, shredded Grande brand mozzarella and provolone cheeses. Pizzas are then fired to perfection at 1000 degrees in a custom, handmade, revolving Neapolitan brick oven in just two minutes.

Unlike traditional Neapolitan pizza which has a slightly undercooked center and requires a fork and knife to eat, 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza has fused this classic style with American flare. The result is a thin crust pizza that maintains the light and airy appeal of a Neapolitan style pizza.

1000 Degrees pizza captures American appeal and old world Neapolitan flavor. The company currently has more than 18 domestic restaurants open and one international location in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 1000 Degrees is growing at a rapid pace, on target to have more than 25 units open by the end of this year.

1000 Degrees Arlington is open Monday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Another fast-casual pizza chain fires up Houston-area locations

By   – Senior web editor, Houston Business Journal

New Jersey-based 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza entered the Houston-area market in May and will fire up its second location next week.

The newest location, at 8035 Spencer Highway in Deer Park, is across the street from San Jacinto College. It will open on Aug. 25 at 11 a.m.

Nelson Hernandez is the operations manager, and Donald Eues is the general manager. Chris and Alice Chandler are the franchisees for both the Deer Park location and the Houston area’s first 1000 Degrees location, which opened at 18032 Saturn Lane in Nassau Bay in May.

The Nassau Bay and Deer Park locations are only the third and fourth 1000 Degrees to open in Texas. The chain also has Texas locations in Austin and Amarillo, and new locations are planned for Katy and Denton. The company was founded in 2014 and plans to have more than 80 units open by the end of the year and more than 170 by the end of 2017.

Several so-called Chipotle-style pizza chains have entered the Houston market in recent years. Bellevue, Washington-based Mod Pizza has opened nine Houston-area locations in less than two years and has leases for seven more. California-based Blaze Pizza recently announced another Houston-area location, and Malawi’s Pizza, which currently has three locations in Utah, announced in May it is planning its first Texas locations.

1000 Degrees touts an authentic Neapolitan take on the personalized, made-to-order trend among fast-casual pizza chains. Each pizza starts with fresh, hand-tossed dough in either a personal 10-inch or shareable 14-inch size, and diners can build their own creations or pick from more than 12 varieties of topping combinations. Pizzas are then cooked at 1,000 degrees in a revolving Neapolitan brick oven in just two minutes.

However, one aspect of Neapolitan pizza 1000 Degrees doesn’t include is the traditional slightly undercooked center. Instead, it “captures American appeal and old world Neapolitan flavor” to create a “thin crust pizza that maintains the light and airy appeal of a Neapolitan style pizza,” according to a press release.

  • INDUSTRY NEWS JANUARY 5, 2016

1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza, a fast-casual restaurant serving authentic, hand-tossed Neapolitan pizza with an American spin, has signed a franchise agreement to bring 12 units to South Florida, the first of which is expected to open by March 2016.

The South Florida agreement is part of 1000 Degrees’ rapid expansion throughout the state. The company has recently partnered with local franchisees in the Northern and Central regions of Florida, with restaurants expected to open in Lake City, Jacksonville, Gainesville, and Orlando within the next three years.

Franchise partners Julianne Burtin and Nick Anagno of Inferno Group Holdings said they plan to open the 12 new South Florida 1000 Degrees locations within the next five years. Both entrepreneurs, having previously launched a swimwear company and grown a motorcycle brand and restaurant respectively, the couple decided to go into business together when they saw the rapid growth of the fast-casual pizza industry. Despite industry competition, Burtin and Anagno ultimately chose to pioneer their market and develop 19 counties of South Florida with 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza because it served the best tasting product.

“Through our deal with 1000 Degrees, Nick and I found an opportunity to develop the customizable pizza concept throughout South Florida,” Burtin says. “We’re excited to bring the brand’s upbeat vibe, high-quality ingredients, and great-tasting food to our hometown and surrounding counties.”

1000 Degrees currently has more than 10 domestic restaurants open in New Jersey, Michigan, and Connecticut and one location in Malaysia. The international franchise is growing at a rapid pace, estimating it will open more than 80 units by the end of 2016, and projecting an additional 170 units by 2017.

“This multiunit franchise deal is only one example of the increased demand we’re seeing for 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza across the nation,” says CEO and founder Brian Petruzzi. “We’re thrilled to have Julianne and Nick on board to grow our brand and introduce our high-quality product throughout the South Florida region.”

1000 Degrees serves personalized, made-to-order authentic Neapolitan pizza. Unlike traditional Neapolitan pizza, which has a slightly undercooked center and requires a fork and knife to eat, 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza has fused this classic style with American flare. The result is a thin crust pizza that maintains the light and airy appeal of a Neapolitan-style pizza.

New restaurants not only bring jobs, but they also bring vendor and construction opportunities for local firms.

The chain offers 12 specialty pizzas, including favorites like the Barbecue Bourbon Chicken, which features sweet and smoky bourbon barbecue sauce, roasted chicken, red onion, pineapple, shredded Grande brand mozzarella and blue cheeses. Pizzas are fired at 1000 degrees in a Neapolitan brick oven and cook in about two minutes.

It’s all about options at 1000 Degrees, where patrons can get a 10-inch or 14-inch pizza with seven different meat options, 12 types of veggies and eight varieties of cheeses and sauces, all assembled in front of your eyes. Pizza crusts are a classic Neapolitan style, or a Roman style that is a thicker variety that’s rolled out into more of a flatbread.

1000 Degrees Pizza debuts first Arizona location

At what point will the Valley have its fill of made-to-order, assembly-line pizza baked in a flash? Perhaps never, because when it’s done with quality ingredients, what’s not to like?

So welcome 1000 Degrees Pizza to the Scottsdale 101 shopping center, the first Arizona location for the Galloway, N.J., company. It joins the ranks of Fired Pie, Mod Pizza, Pizza Me, Pizza Rev and other fast-casual, build-your-own pizza joints in metro Phoenix.

The theme

Personalized, made-to-order Neapolitan-style pizza made with fresh, hand-tossed dough crafted from “00” flour into 10-inch ($7.95) and 14-inch ($14.95) sizes.

  • You can choose a combo, perhaps a Meatza with meatballs, hot or sweet Italian sausage, bacon, pepperoni and mozzarella. Or a Philly, with thin-sliced rib eye, caramelized onions, balsamic glaze, mozzarella and provolone.
  • You can build your own pizza, from more than 50 cheeses, sauces, meats, vegetables and other toppings.

How they’re made

Pizzas are then fired at 1000 degrees in a revolving-bottom brick oven, finishing in two minutes. Don’t expect authentic Neapolitan finesse — the traditional certified Italian pizza boasts a signature, slightly soft center, while the 1000 Degrees model is crispy throughout.

More locations on the way

Operated as a franchise by Randy and Ban Kassab of Capital Pizza Ventures, this is the just the first slice of the pie, since the group plans to develop three more Valley stores, with the next slated to open in Gilbert this spring.

Founded in 2014, 1000 Degrees is a fast-growing concept with nearly a dozen domestic restaurants and one international location in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A mega expansion is planned through 2017.
