Fast-Casual Pizza In Elkhorn Nebraska is here!

It’s not an easy feat to make good pizza quickly. If you’re looking for pizza in Elkhorn, Neb., you can find fast, good, and personalized pizza now at 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria. The franchise opened its second location in the Metro – and it’s true, the pizzeria’s 1000-degree oven bakes pizzas in two minutes. My family was invited to a dinner out at the restaurant so I could tell you all about it.

Disclosure: This post is sponsored by 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria. I was compensated for writing about my experience. As always, my opinions, descriptions and typos are my own.  pizza franchises for sale

The Food At 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria
Let’s just jump into the food, that’s what you’re curious about, right? While the menu does branch out out to include some salads and fire-roasted chicken wings, the main reason to go here is pizza. You can order one of their classics, with toppings and sauces already decided, or you can create your own. The price doesn’t change whether you add two or 12 toppings.

You can tweak the classics, too. I heard the White Out pizza was delicious as is: Extra virgin olive oil, shredded mozzarella, parmesan, fresh mushrooms, and garlic. But, I met Derek Benson-Williams, the franchise’s regional manager, and he mentioned he added bacon to the White Out.

Good call, Derek. Good call.

The White Out with bacon was a savory treat, but the standout pizza was the one Mr. Wonderful ordered. He got the Smokey Pollo and made no changes to it. This flavorful pizza has sweet and smokey bourbon barbecue sauce, roasted chicken, bacon, red onion, red peppers, pineapple, shredded mozzarella and blue cheese. I’m not a fan of blue cheese, but on this pizza, it was just right.

My family all went with Neapolitan-style pizzas, but 1000 Degrees also has a style called Roman, with a thicker, puffier crust.

For four of us, we got three 10-inch pizzas, plus cheesy breadsticks. That was more than enough for us. One pizza was enough for my two young kids, but adding the breadsticks insured they didn’t finish the entire pizza.

Feeding Kids at 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria
I loved the individualization of pizzas at 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria, particularly since my kids can be rather picky. I’m pretty sure once they begin venturing out beyond pepperoni, they would be happy to add something crazy like macaroni and cheese to their pizza, but for now, they were content with their usual.

We’ve had Neapolitan style pizza before, and the kids have balked at eating pizza with the fresh mozzarella slices on it. Crazy, right? It’s so good when it’s fresh. You can get fresh mozzarella at 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria, but if you’ve got kids like mine, you can also opt for the shredded variety to satisfy them.

Ordering at a Fast-Casual Pizzeria
1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria takes some inspiration from places like Subway, letting people have things the way they want them. That may mean standing at the counter and pointing out the toppings you want, deciding on which of the eight sauces you like, and deciding if you want just want type of cheese on top (or all eight). Then you have to figure out which crust you want (there’s a gluten-free option, too).

Omaha Location Deals
We dined at the Elkhorn location, the newest 1000 Degrees in the Metro area.

There is an Omaha location of 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizzeria that’s been open since last May. You can head there for some great deals to save a little money. The biggie is the $6 Thursday deal. Any 10-inch pizza is $6, which is about 30% off the regular price.

According to franchisee information, it usually takes about two to five months for a 1000 Degrees restaurant to open once a deal is signed.

New restaurants not only bring jobs, but they also bring vendor and construction opportunities for local firms.

The chain offers 12 specialty pizzas, including favorites like the Barbecue Bourbon Chicken, which features sweet and smoky bourbon barbecue sauce, roasted chicken, red onion, pineapple, shredded Grande brand mozzarella and blue cheeses. Pizzas are fired at 1000 degrees in a Neapolitan brick oven and cook in about two minutes.

New 1000 Degrees Pizza Franchise opens Bradenton, Florida

“Bradenton is about to heat up,”The restaurant, at 6220 14th St. W. in Bradenton, will become the seventh 1000 Degrees Pizzeria to open in Florida, but the first along the Gulf Coast. Three others are slated to open before the end of the year, according to the company’s website.  The Bradenton location will feature the largest “self-serve beer and wine wall” tap system in the 1000 Degrees Pizza restaurant chain.

The first 10 customers on Friday at the Bradenton location – the scheduled opening time is 11 a.m. – will get a free pizza once a week for a year, while all customers through the door that day will get a free made-to-order 10-inch pizza with more than 30 toppings, cheeses and sauces to choose from, while supplies last.

Though getting to Friday’s opening took longer than expected, Shah said he is more than ready to fulfill a lifelong dream.

He grew up in India wanting to become a chef while his parents worked in the hotel business. The family moved to the U.S. when he was 17, and his parents continued their work in hotels.

Shah got into the liquor and retail side of food service while living in Pensacola, where he resided for about a decade before moving to Bradenton two years ago.

While visiting family in New Jersey last year, he tried 1000 Degrees pizza for the first time.

“I ate their pizza and it was amazing,” Shah said. “I really loved it.”

Now, he’s opening his own franchise, with Shah saying 1000 Degrees and Bradenton were a good match for several reasons.

“It’s a place where a family can come in and have a nice dinner or a nice lunch,” he said.

Each pizza is cooked in a custom-built Neapolitan oven that reaches 1,000 degrees and is ready in about 2 minutes.

The Neapolitan-style pizza, characterized by a razor-thin crust and short baking time in a high-temperature oven – hence the name of the chain – is meant to be eaten right after it comes out of the oven, Shah said, so delivery will not be offered.

Unique to the Bradenton location: A self-serve beer and wine wall featuring 30 taps that will utilize iPourIt technology – customers get a bracelet linked to their credit card, then scan the bracelet at a tap before pouring beer or wine priced by the ounce.

John Feltes, the vice president of operation for 1000 Degrees, told the Bradenton Herald that Florida is well-positioned for pizza-franchise growth because of transplants and tourism.

New 1000 Degrees Pizza Franchise opens In San Antonio

At 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza, the name says it all: customizable pizza cooked at a scorching temperature that’s ready to eat in two minutes.

The first San Antonio location of the blossoming franchise is set to open Nov. 2 at 11224 Huebner Road in the City View Village Shopping Center, and there are plans for a bevy of giveaways that make the grand-opening noteworthy.   San Antonio pizza franchise

The first 10 customers in line when doors open at 11 a.m., along with 10 other randomly chosen customers that will be notified via specially marked boxes, will receive “free pizza for a year.” Owner Ashley Andres said the prizes will be administered as 52 coupons for free 10-inch pies.

Every customer who goes to 1000 Degrees on opening day will be served up a freebie 10-inch pizza and can enjoy live music throughout the day and a free photo booth from Studio Benton Photography.

There also is a specialty menu with pizzas such as the Trenton Tomato Pie, Smokey Pollo and the Hawaiian Fire, made with a spicy sriracha marinara. All of the 10-inch pizzas will be sold for $10 or less. There aren’t any limits on the toppings for “build your own” pies, although it’s not recommended to go beyond five.

“The biggest draw is that customers can get in and out during a lunch break with a freshly made pizza,” Andres said. “ Ninety percent of our business will be build-your-own. It’s appealing, because as people go through the assembly line, they may say ‘You know, I’ve never had salami on a pizza … let’s try that.
